Willie Fay Haun (Grammie) passed away on December 31, 2025, at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Bokchito, Oklahoma, on May 24, 1940, to Harvey Allen (Pete) and Virgie Lee Vandenburg. She was number three of nine living children.
Fay grew up in their humble home of rural Oklahoma attending Bokchito High School where she graduated in 1958. Shortly after high school, she married and began her life as a homemaker. Fay experienced the greatest moments of her life when she became a mom to two boys, Allen Ray Haun in 1962 and William Dewayne Haun in 1966. Her boys were her whole world until she became a Grammie.
Over the years Fay was an amazing homemaker, seamstress and crafter—she loved creating things with her hands. Her greatest passion was spending time with family at cookouts, bonfires and other family get-togethers, especially when there was a game of farkle or aggravation to be played.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Virgie and Pete Vandenburg; three sisters, Minnie Ned, Dorothy Smith, and Betty Dumas; one brother, James Randall Vandenburg.
Fay is survived by her son, Allen Ray Haun and wife Kayleen and son, William Dewayne Haun—all of Chandler, Oklahoma; bonus daughter, Vicki Mohl of Pryor, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Olya Arthur of Fort Worth, Texas; grandson, Phillip Haun of Austin, Texas; granddaughter, Valerie Haun of Chandler, Oklahoma; bonus grandson, Cody Martin of Pryor, Oklahoma; bonus grandson, James Loeve of Austin, Texas; bonus granddaughter, Destiny Shaw of Austin, Texas; bonus granddaughter, Josie Evans of Chandler, Oklahoma; bonus granddaughter, Katie Jo Hatcher of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one great granddaughter, Gianna Shaw (Little Brown Eyes); brother, Gene Vandenburg of Bokchito, Oklahoma; sister, Judy Mitchell and husband Elmer of Bokchito, Oklahoma; brother, Ricky Vandenburg and wife Donna of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, Don Vandenburg and wife Shirley of Caddo, Oklahoma; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that all had a very special place in her heart.
Special thanks go to bonus granddaughter, Sandy Baumgarten, for being there to help care for Grammie and staying up countless hours to make sure she had what she needed.
Also, special thanks go to the amazing team at Luminos Hospice for taking such good care of our Grammie. She truly loved everyone that came out to see her.
