William Franklin Fipps Jr.

William Frank Fipps, age 88, of McLoud, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 20, 2025, after a long battle with heart complications.

Frank was born on October 30, 1936, in Brownsboro, Texas, to William Frank Fipps, Sr. and Millie (Hutchins) Fipps. After high school, he worked various jobs before finding his calling as a truck driver for Safeway, retiring after 36 dedicated years behind the wheel.

In 1965, Frank met Linda Dannheim, and they were married in 1972. Together they raised five children: Pam Bailey, Juanell “Nell” Simms, Kevin Dawyne Fipps, Kevin Dale Fipps, and Christopher Fipps.

Upon retiring in 1992, Frank pursued his passions with boundless energy—woodworking, remodeling, gardening, fishing, and gathering for coffee at Curtis Watson Restaurant. He was a devoted family man who took pride in every project and cherished moments spent with loved ones.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, William and Millie Fipps; sisters and brothers-in-law, June and Bill Rounsevell and Pete and Jimmy Langston; daughter, Pam Bailey; and granddaughter, Candice Gibson. He experienced deep companionship in two loving marriages, including his first wife, Ida Lou, who passed in 1972, and he remained committed to the women he cherished throughout his lifetime.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his children: Nell, Kevin Dawyne, Kevin Dale and wife, Melissa, and Christopher; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

Frank’s warmth, craftsmanship, and storytelling will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, 11:00 am, at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery.
