Russell Joseph Hill, age 50, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away January 2, 2026.
He was born on August 27, 1975, and raised in Norman, Oklahoma. He graduated from Norman High School in 1994 and spent his early years playing a variety of sports with his friends, where laughter was just as common as competition.
Russell worked in electrical and HVAC services, and held certifications in several other fields, taking pride in his hands-on skills and strong work ethic. He remained active in his trade throughout his life and was always working on home projects.
He had an adventurous side and did everything from skydiving to traveling, but his favorite place was often his chair. He loved watching football, keeping up with good shows and movies, and finding humor in just about everything. Known for his quick wit and easygoing nature, he had a special way of making people laugh—often when they least expected it—and rarely took life too seriously.
He was a father to one daughter, Megan, whom he loved deeply.
He passed away due to complications from cirrhosis of the liver.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Kennith and Joyce Hill. He is survived by his daughter, Megan Elsey and husband Timmothy; his brother, Christopher Hill and wife Joanna; his sister, Vanessa Sherk and husband Kyle, along with family and friends who will remember him for his jokes and stories.
