Roberta "Bobbi" Lee Rogers

Bobbi Rogers was born in Oklahoma City, OK on July 31st, 1939, to Robert Kemper Hurt and Opal Lee Hurt. She was a very rambunctious child and graduated from West high School. She went on to get her LPN degree. Later, she worked two jobs while going back to school to get her RN degree. She worked as a caregiver in nursing centers, hospitals, and home healthcare settings including Bear Creek Nursing Center and Porter Memorial Hospital in Oncology. She went to work at Visiting Angels when she could no longer do medical care. She was a very hardworking woman with a very soft heart. She was always donating to children’s causes and those she found along her way. She treated every person who entered our family as if they were blood. She enjoyed the American Indian culture and attended some Lakota ceremonies. She loved her family and we loved her.

She is survived by her brother William, his wife Carol, their children Michelle Blessing, Sheryl Hunter, Eddie Hurt, and Theresa Hurt and their families. Her children Dave Tefft, Ken DeWitt, Jim DeWitt, Debbie DeWitt, and Deanna Mestas. Her Children-in-law Lisa DeWitt, Jeanette Tefft, Deana DeWitt and Jay Mestas. Her grandchildren, Rich Reuter, Veronika Robles, Jake DeWitt, Austin DeWitt, Joseph Mestas, Robert Mestas, Shawna Mestas, Brooklyne Sanders, Angelea Sanders, Brian and Fiona Fisher, Susan and Manuel Pacheco, Jennifer Fisher and Joseph Bentfield. Great Grandchildren, Alexis and Kyriana Robles, Illyssa Reuter, Nolan, Jaxon and Mason Fisher, Emily and Thomas Pacheco, Edward and Anastasia Bentfield.

She didn’t have much time to do a lot of fun things, but when she did, we had a lot of fun. She was always there for her family when they needed her. She truly cared about every patient she ever had. She made every one of them feel like family. I remember spending Christmas time decorating patient doors and delivering a little gift to each patient. One Easter, she had Debbie, Jay and I come to the hospital to hide Easter eggs for a patient’s children so he could see them search for Easter eggs. There are a million stories I could share. I loved my Mom very much.
