Robert Weston Tejan, 83, of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Robert was born on August 9, 1942, in Salem Township, Ohio to William Henry Herbert and Francis Catherine (Hoke) Herbert. He was adopted by Helen Powers and Lt Col. Howard W Tejan, of Dayton, Ohio.

Robert was the proud father of four children: Dirk Tejan, Walter Tejan, Jon Tejan and Ellen McGehee.

He attended military school before serving in the Navy in Fighter Squadron 114 as an Aviation technician 3rd class in the Pacific theater from 1959 to 1963.

Robert spent 25 years as a truck driver, starting as a mover for Bekins and developing into a successful owner-operator moving business.

Dad enjoyed woodworking in his younger years, as well as playing golf and investing in the stock market.

Robert is preceded in death by his sister Debbie Draper and brother Tom Tejan, who passed away in 2025.

Robert is survived by his son: Dirk Tejan, his sons and daughters in law: Walter Tejan and Karyn Tejan, Jon Tejan and Becky Tejan, and daughter and son-in-law Ellen McGehee and Jerrie McGehee.

Robert will always be remembered for his strong personality, sense of humor and love for his kids.


A celebration of Robert's life will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1501 E. Independence St., Shawnee, OK 74804.
