Robert Verne Brown, 88, of Sparks, Oklahoma passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the family farm, Saturday, May 16, 2026.
Robert (Bob) was born January 14, 1938, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to the late Fredrick and Beale King Brown. He completed his secondary education at Stillwater High School in Oklahoma then attended Oklahoma State University primarily to participate on the rodeo team. He then was drafted in the United States Army where he served honorably for 2 years. After the Army he became a Union 798 Pipeliner, taking on the role of a welder and later went to Alaska to contribute to the construction of the Alaska Pipeline. His career ultimately spanned 62 years as a member concluding his work on the Kern River Pipeline in Utah. Following his retirement as a pipeliner he pursued his passion for horse racing and breeding focusing on Oklahoma Breed Bloodlines full time.
He traveled all over the United States chasing pipelines, rodeos and racing horses. Bob lived his life to the fullest on his terms doing what he loved.
He leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Amy Brown, of Sparks, Oklahoma, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Wade Brown, as well as two brothers, Wardle Brown and Billy H. Brown, and a sister Winifred Brown Burba.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the old Sparks Schools (now Sparks Nutrition Site) at 308 6th Street, Sparks, Oklahoma 74869.
