Prudencio Ramirez Vargas “Jeff”, 79, of Ferris, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2025, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born on October 16, 1946, in Post, Texas. He was one of fifteen siblings.
He was an exceptional father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and cousin. He consistently created a welcoming atmosphere, making everyone feel at home, and often left us laughing. Jeff was a legendary figure to those who knew him.
He absolutely loved his Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and loved gambling of any sort, such as playing poker, casinos, and horse races. He also enjoyed fishing during his free time. He loved to cook out with fajitas or ribs and have a beer while listening to Etta James and Little Joe. He always enjoyed reminiscing about his younger years with his siblings. His proudest moments were when he became a father. He enjoyed the simple things in life.
Jeff worked as a printer for over 25 years and retired at the age of 62. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Maria Vargas; father, Antonio Vargas; and ten siblings: Connie, Eloisa, Gloria, Rebecca, Frankie, Roy, Joe I, Joe II, Antonio, and Felipe. He is survived by sisters, Melquaides “Chala” and Rosalinda and brothers, Guadalupe and Victor. He is also survived by his five daughters: Becca, Birdie, Shannon, Jessica, and Nicole and their spouses: Joe, Christian, Jesse, and Dru, as well as Wyatt and ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and other extended family members and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held later, when it’s warmer and we can enjoy all the things he loved.
