Patricia Jane Hubartt

Patricia J. Hubartt was born March 15, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Leon and Mildred (Lackey) Hubartt. Dr. Hubartt passed away on August 2, 2026. She is predeceased by her parents, and brother, James M. Hubartt. She is survived by her sister-in-law Judy Hubartt of Columbus, Ohio; nephews James G. (Jay) Hubartt, Springdale, Arkansas; Jeffrey D. (Jeff) Hubartt, Columbus, Ohio; and niece Jane E. (Hubartt) Magelky and husband Thane, Sheridan, Wyoming; and great nephew Darin Hubartt and wife Allison, Colony, Texas and their son Henry; and great niece Jacy Hubartt, Ft. Smith, Arkansas and great-great nieces Jolie, Ali, and Sadie Magelky of Sheridan, Wyoming; and lifelong friends, Marilyn S. Bradford, Shawnee, Joan Parkhurst Cain, and Trish Collins, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She attended Sapulpa and Hobart Public Schools and Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970, and commissioned as an officer in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) in the United States Army. She proudly served two years active duty at Fort McClelland, Anniston, Alabama, and Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Following active duty, she was an administrative reservist clerk and was commissioned a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, Oklahoma City.

In 1982, she began a lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian enrolling at the University of Central Oklahoma, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science and earned prerequisites for admission into the Oklahoma State University Veterinary School in 1985. Upon earning her D.V.M. in 1989, she began a mixed animal practice in south Oklahoma City. In 1993, she established a lifelong dream, the first solo feline practice with the OKC Cat Clinic. She continued her feline practice until her retirement in 2017. Although cats were the focus of her later veterinary practice, she never lost her love for standard collies. Together, dogs and cats, along with their owners, became her cherished friends.

Patricia was intrepid, never shying away from challenge in her life or career. Unfortunately, dementia and diabetes cut short her retirement years, but not before, she visited the WWII Museum in New Orleans; sang with the Adelaides at Carnegie Hall, NYC; and enjoyed vacations to the Lake District, United Kingdom; Normandy region, Paris, France; and Edenborough, Scotland.
