Nester Rudd Linnell

Nester Rudd Linnell (nee Kimber Gabriel Harvey) was born on March 1, 1991. His entrance into the world came after his mother spent 5 weeks in the hospital – ensuring that his debut would be healthy and safe. Kimber was a cheery child, doted on by his older sister and loving parents. As a child he loved Disney movies, Thomas the Tank Car, and cartoons. When Kimber was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome at age six, the Psychologist said, “He will always be his own person” and that was so true. He graduated from Choctaw High School in 2009. He had an amazing memory and recall. In young adulthood, Kimber loved music, played piano, guitar and accordion, and over time accumulated a large unique hat collection.

Although he was a happy child, puberty threw him into chaos, and he struggled to find belonging. Kimber embraced various identities and names over his lifetime – Gab Harkins, Christopher Beauregard, after finally settling on Nester in 2024, when he legally changed his name to Nester Rudd Linnell. Rudd is from actor Paul Rudd and Linnell is from John Linnell from the band They Might Be Giants. In 2017 Nester moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he lived in various living arrangements. He struggled with addiction and he spent one year in a rehab program in Cleveland but eventually walked away.

Nester enjoyed many adventures with his family, traveling to Hawaii in 2008, to Disneyworld several times, and to Ireland in 2009, as well as many road trips when they would sing and play games. Nester died at home in Choctaw after a year of illness, surrounded by family and in the warmth of his old childhood bedroom.

Nester is survived by his parents, Maureen and Scot Harvey of Choctaw; his sister, Mairead Todd and her husband Sam Stalcup, and their son, Rowan Stalcup of Oklahoma City; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

We will miss his brilliance, his quirky wit and his beautiful presence. We are planning a Memorial Service to take place on what would’ve been his 35th birthday, March 1, 2026, at First Unitarian Church of Oklahoma City. A memorial fund has been set up at Homeless Alliance where they, daily, take care of lost souls.
