In Loving Memory of Nancy Ilene Wright….

Nancy Ilene Wright, a cherished member of our community, passed away after complications from surgery on March 25, 2025, at the age of 76. Known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit, Nancy touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion.

Born on September 13, 1948, Nancy grew up in a loving family, instilling in her the values of hard work, perseverance, and empathy. She was an exemplary student, excelling in her academic and extracurricular activities, always striving to make a difference.

Nancy spent many years working with the Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center (COJC) Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA), where she dedicated herself to helping others. She was a true mentor to many, always willing to offer support, guidance, or just a listening ear. Her wisdom and steady presence touched countless lives, and her influence will be felt for years to come.

Outside of work, Nancy’s life was all about family and friendship. She had strong relationships with her sisters, Susan and Cecilia Ann, and was a devoted mom to Hillary, Cathy, Carl, and Adrian, and a proud grandma to Dylan, Clayton, Ian, Collin, Chelsea, Gage, and Lily and great-grandmother to Piper Jean. Her home was the go-to place for holidays, good food, and belly laughs. Everyone knew when Nancy was cooking, it was going to be something special.

She loved being outside in her garden, painting, or just enjoying nature. Nancy had a creative soul and a big heart - always encouraging others to find joy in life and follow their passions. Nancy also gave back in so many ways, quietly supporting causes close to her heart and always thinking of others. She believed in lifting people up, and that’s exactly what she did.

Nancy leaves behind her loving family and a wide circle of friends and former colleagues who will miss her deeply. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and love.

A memorial service will be held at Tecumseh Pentecostal Church of God on April 25th at 10:00 am, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Nancy’s remarkable life and honor her enduring legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family in an attempt to defray estate costs.

Nancy Ilene Wright will be deeply missed. But her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and in the many lives she impacted. May she rest in peace.
