On November 22, 2025, Montey Kent Guest passed from this earthly life to eternity. Montey was born on January 28, 1955, to Jackie Gene Guest and Shirley Ann Hurst Guest at Shawnee Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Montey spent his early life running up and down the streets of small-town Tecumseh. He knew every shop owner by name and stopped to see them all most every day. He played in every creek, pond, and lake he could find between Tecumseh Lake and Earlsboro. He knew where all the crawdads were and was on a mission to catch them and sell them for bait. If his uncles wanted something ornery or sneaky done to someone, Montey was the one they would get to carry it out. He loved nothing better than to tease, pester, and cause a ruckus. He would say the most inappropriate things at the most inappropriate times and make everyone upset, then walk off. His work was done. But mostly, he was on a mission to kiss as many girls as he possibly could.
In 1972, Montey enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. He toured Vietnam, the Philippine Islands, and the Alaskan Coastline. He was a proud United States Veteran and served his country well.
Montey’s greatest blessings in life were his children, Jeremy, Kesha, and Max. But then came Kyndall, Tyson, and Dakota. He loved those grandbabies. Behind all of them was his menagerie of animals, Cutie Pie, Scooter, Black Dog, a herd of miniature donkeys, cows, and feral cats.
Montey was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Guest and Shirley Scott, maternal grandparents, Lucien and Flora Hurst, and paternal grandparents, Jesse and Exie Guest, his brother Bill Guest, and bonus mom, Patti Guest. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeremy and Brittany Guest of Tulsa, Kesha Guest Adams of Newcastle, Max Guest of Tecumseh, his only spouse, Sharee Sensintaffer Guest, Newcastle, and his three grandchildren, Kyndall, Tyson, and Dakota. Montey has one sister, Ronda Townsend and husband Larry of Tecumseh, niece Amy and husband Nick Morris, Branson, MO, nephews, with great nieces and great nephews, Lucien Townsend and son Shelton, Tecumseh, and Shelby Townsend and children Kylan, Kinzley, and Case, of Tecumseh. He has a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The most remarkable thing Montey ever did was to give his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ recently. For that we are forever grateful and filled with hope of seeing him again in eternity.
We wish to thank some special people. Montey had a great group of neighbors that he cared for deeply and helped him so much. Charlie and Stevie Chadwick and their daughter, Paxton fed animals and carried him meals. Betty and Neal Sparks checked on him and kept him in their prayers. Kevin and Tina Parks were always around and in and out. Thank you for your friendship. The doctors, nurses, and aides at Oklahoma Hearth Hospital South took such great care of him and our family. Bethel Acres Assembly loved him unconditionally and will be with us all the way through. Thank you for all your prayers and love. Donnie Henson with AE, you are a forever friend. Thank you. Dr. AJ Varghuese, SSM Medical, thank you for always caring for him.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday at 1 p.m. for a Celebration of Life Dinner, in the gym at Bethel Acres Assembly. Montey’s wish was that we would just gather and have a meal on him. The address is 18509 Bethel Rd., Shawnee, OK.
