Micheal Anthony Ruiz, 36, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2025, in Oklahoma City with his wife by his side. Mike was born on July 31, 1989, in Smithfield, North Carolina, to Everardo and Millie Ruiz. Although he was raised in Benson, North Carolina, he made his home in Shawnee.
Micheal met his wife, Katie Lynn Ruiz, in 2009 while attending Job Corp in Kittrell, North Carolina. After 2 weeks of dating, Micheal proposed to Katie and from then they built a life together. Mike was a devoted husband that took all measures to provide for his family. On September 28, 2014, Katie and Micheal introduced their first-born child, Bentley Everardo Ruiz, into this world. Then on March 27, 2017, Micheal and Katie solidified their love for each other by joining together as one.
In 2015, Mike obtained his CDL licensure. From there, he worked hard to obtain a career and finally landed his dream job in 2019 with Dolese Bros. Co. After 5 years, he reached his goal of becoming a homeowner. Micheal was proud of his family, his job, and his home that he worked so hard for, and it showed.
Micheal was a gentle giant. He adored date nights with his wife and son, spending time with family and friends, and creating memories with those he met. He loved watching videos of OBS Chevy’s and Harley’s. He also enjoyed working on vehicles and shooting guns. He was a man of faith and welcomed Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Micheal is survived by his wife, Katie and son, Bentley; his father, Everardo and his mother, Millie; his brother, Jason and wife, Lisa and their children, Anthony and Kyle; his sister, Alisa and husband, Lazaro “Zorro”, and son Jayden; in-laws: Felipe and Maelynn; sisters, Felicia (Evan) and Sarah; brothers, Chris, Jacob, and Zach; nieces: Melayna, Lily, Lola, Lucy, and Evelyn; nephews: Jessie, Ryan, Aiden, Malakai, Grayson, and Riot; and his fur babies: Toasty, Arlo, and Lenny.
