Michael Wesley Mitchell

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael Wesley Mitchell, who entered into eternal rest on March 31, 2025, in the comfort of his own home in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born in Bakersfield, California, on October 23, 1961, to Carolynn and Martin Luther Mitchell Jr., and was raised with two brothers and a sister, Martin, Matt and Melina.

Michael was an amazing man who was filled with laughter and love. He found great joy in his job, his animals, and his friends. He loved meeting with his friends every morning for coffee, and his laughter would fill the restaurant. He was known for his laugh and his happy personality.

Michael was passionate about the work that he had done in his lifetime. He worked on a farm as a mechanic and then worked on tractors and lawnmowers for the remaining years until he retired. He also helped on the Duval farm with the lawn, animals, and other chores.

Michael’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and simple joys in life. His spirit and love for life will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, 3:30 p.m., at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.
