Michael James DeRemer, 62, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on June 30, 2025, following a cardiac arrest while battling kidney disease.
Born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, on May 29, 1963, to Kenneth and Sylvia DeRemer, Michael spent his early years in New Jersey before relocating with his family to Oklahoma in 1996—a move that marked a new chapter but never took away his connection to New Jersey with friends and family still living there to this day.
Michael met the love of his life, Donna, and they were married on August 2, 1986. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure, raising two sons, Michael and Joseph.
Throughout his life, Michael worked numerous jobs. He began his career driving a trash truck in New Jersey, later becoming a school bus driver for South Rock Creek School after moving to Oklahoma. He went on to run his own business, DeRemer Trucking, and eventually opened a tire shop, which he operated until his retirement.
A true road trip enthusiast, Michael cherished the family’s annual drives back to New Jersey, treasuring the journey as much as the destination. He was also a passionate classic car lover. He proudly owned his father’s 1957 Chevy truck, which he later traded for a beautifully restored 1936 Chevy two-door sedan which he owned till his passing.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia; father, Kenneth; and brother, Keith. He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna; his sons, Michael (wife, Michaela) and Joseph (fiancé, Clara); and his brother, Kenny.
Michael will be remembered for his quiet strength, warm heart, and willingness to help anyone he knew. His legacy lives on in the stories he shared, the roads he traveled, and the lives he touched.
He will be truly missed.
