Michael Richard Herndon

Michael Richard Herndon, 65, was born on December 8, 1958, to Richard and Donna Herndon at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma.  He passed away on May 12, 2024.

After graduating from high school in 1978, Michael married his high school sweetheart, Vickie, on April 4, 1980.  In 1982, they had their first child, Jennifer.  In 1987, Michael and Vickie were surprised when they found out they were expecting a son, Michael Duane.  Michael’s true joys were his wife, his children, his son-in-law, and his five grandchildren--Kassidi, Justin Michael, Victoria, Damien, and Odin.

Michael was a great craftsman.  After coming home from work and on the weekends, he would go on to build his wife’s dream home from the ground up.  It was the home where they raised their family in Choctaw, Oklahoma.

Michael’s pastime was fishing.  If he wasn’t at his favorite fishing hole at Mountain Lake, he was at the pond behind his home.  Many family beach vacations were planned around his love for deep sea fishing.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Michael is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughter, Jennifer, and husband, Justin, and their children: Kassidi, Justin Michael, and Victoria; son, Michael, and his children, Damien and Odin; many other relatives and a host of friends.
