Maxine Dorothy Gamble went to her heavenly home January 5, 2023, at the age of 90. Maxine was born in Slim, Oklahoma, on December 11, 1932, to William O’Bannon and Ruth (Stidham) O’Bannon. She was a longtime resident of Moore, Oklahoma.
Maxine married Tommy Gamble in Arkansas on November 2, 1949. Maxine faithfully cared for Tommy as his health declined through the past four years. Her life revolved around her family, especially her granddaughters, Tenia and Trissi. As a faithful Christian, she attended the Central Church of Christ in Moore, OK, and taught the 2- and 3- years old class for over 40 years. She served as the church secretary for 25 years. Maxine loved to sing, and she and Tommy enjoyed bluegrass music. She also enjoyed reading and shopping and usually would outlast the other shoppers with her.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tony Jack Gamble; four sisters and one brother.
Surviving loved ones are her husband, Tommy of the home; daughter, Sheila Henson and husband, Gary, of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughters: Tenia Shai Patterson and husband, Keith, of Macomb, OK and Trissi Rene` Johnson and husband, Brandon, of Macomb, OK; great grandchildren: Maggie, Zeb, Elijah, Stetson, Hope, Ethan and Cameron; her sister, Oleta Parker; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Viewing will be held 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2023, at Central Church of Christ, 800 E. Main St., Moore, OK 73153.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Central Church of Christ. Interment will follow at 4:00 pm at Moran Cemetery in Valliant, OK.
