Marilyn Anderson Ticer

Marilyn Ann Ticer, 75, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026. She was born on March 1, 1950, to M.N. “Red” and Della Anderson.

Marilyn graduated from Shawnee High School in 1968. Following high school, she attended St. Gregory’s College and graduated in 1970. She then had a very rewarding career as an auditor for Graybar Electric, retiring in 1996.

She met the love of her life, Garry Van Ticer, and they were married on April 8, 1972.

Marilyn enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports fan. She loved watching the Sooners play football and softball. She also loved traveling, and she and Garry took many memorable trips throughout the years. She was always up for a road trip with her cousins to Shreveport or Vegas as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings: Johnny Anderson, Gene Anderson, Janie Robinson and Sue Sears; nephew, Jeff Anderson.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Garry Van Ticer of the home; sister, Norma Anderson of Shawnee; brother-in-law, Marvene Sears of Tecumseh; nephew and niece, Mike and LaShawna Sears of Meeker; nephew, Jason Anderson of Shawnee; nephew and niece, Fred Sears and Kim Porter of Tecumseh; nephew, Derek Anderson; niece, Haley French and Klayton; many loving great nieces, nephews, cousins and good friend, Toni Dees.

An inurnment service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, 11:00 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery, 1400 N. Center Ave., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801.
