Marcia Ann Johnson

Marcia Ann Johnson, 78, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024.  She was born in Jackson, Michigan, on December 4, 1945, to Elvis Clifton Rodgers and Elouise (Frizzell) Rodgers.

Marcia was a claims auditor for Towers and Perrin for twenty years and she traveled all over the country for her work.  She lived in many different states—Wyoming, Montana, Arkansas, Michigan, Colorado, and Arizona—and made her home in Oklahoma in 1994.

Marcia enjoyed gardening, painting, country dancing and music, especially Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline.   She loved birds, specifically cardinals.   She also loved to cook, and her family favorite was her chicken and dumplings.  She was feisty, determined, a little ornery, but all with the best of intentions.  Quick to lend a hand, she was always there to help anyone in need.  Her legacy lives on in the great advice she gave and was so well known for and in the three strong, smart, independent women she raised, much on her own.  She was a great mom and grammy.  She believed, “God won’t give you more than you can handle.  Take one day at a time.”

Marcia is survived by her three daughters—Kristin Parker (Erik), Leslie Smith, and Michelle Mast (Randy); seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Parkland Manor and Centric Hospice for the care given to their loved one.

The family will have a private ceremony to honor Marcia’s life.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
