Obituary

Marcella "Machelle" Anne Oliver went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 3, 2026. She was born to Skye Oliver and Lucille Thorpe on December 27, 1953, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She lived to be 72 years old.

She graduated from Chilocco Indian school and then moved to California where she married her first love, George Malamute.

Machelle also loved to ride her Harley Davidson, loved the country, her grandkids and loved God. She enjoyed traveling and watching her daughter play softball when she was younger. She loved laughing with her cousins and friends. She had a contagious laughter that would make everyone smile. She loved her family dearly and would always put them first. She was the kindest, sweetest woman that would help anyone in need and would give you the shirt off her back.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Skye Oliver and Lucille Thorpe and her brother, Harold Dean Brokeshoulder.

Left to cherish her memories are her eldest son, George Todd Malamute, daughter in law, Sarah Malamute, grandson Dylan Malamute, and significant other, Joshlynn Rock, great granddaughter Juniper Rock-Malamute, and twin great grandbabies, Luna Daisy Rock-Malamute and Lane Henry Rock-Malamute.

Her second born son, Luis Garcia, and her daughter, Angeline West. Her beautiful grandchildren, Jordan Wise, Kenneth West II, Peyton West, and Kobe Spottedhorse. Her beautiful family members, Dara Thorpe, Patricia Brown, and all of her Thorpe family. And among her amazing friends, Carla Rodriguez, Roberta Lee, and Shirley Walters.

She will be loved and missed dearly. "It's never goodbye but see y’all later."

A memorial service will be held at Sallateeska Baptist Church on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Victor Cope officiating.
