Luther Welch

Luther Etchel Welch passed from this life July 6, 2022, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. He was born November 15, 1936, to Lawrence Patrick Welch and Ola Bell Welch in Dustin, Oklahoma.
Luther married Patsy Sue on August 14, 1962, at the First Baptist Church in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. As a past member of the University Baptist Church and a current member of Immanuel Baptist Church, both in Shawnee, Luther was always involved in church activities. He was a big OSU Cowboy fan and enjoyed all OBU sports. He also loved watching westerns.
Luther was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Loved ones left with special memories of Luther are: son, Larry Welch and wife, Dana, of Tecumseh, OK; daughters, Becky and Shelly Welch, of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Dustin Welch and Brooklyn Lopez, of Shawnee, OK; special nephew, Ryan Grider; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Chris) Grider and Jerry Grider; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 3:00 pm in the Immanuel Baptist Church, 1451 E. 45th St., Shawnee, OK.
