His Life:
Lowell Eugene “Sonny” Wakole, lovingly known as Gene and POP, was born on July 26, 1934, to Harry Eugene Wakole and Lillian Mae Windowmaker. He grew up in the Meeker area and attended Union Point Grade School. He was lovingly adopted into the Wallace family.

Gene proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he spent many years working as a truck driver and farmer, building a life centered around hard work, family, and perseverance. He was also a proud member of the 89ers Wagon Train.

On September 5, 1994, Gene married Debra McIntruff. Together, they shared more than 30 years of marriage and many treasured memories.

Throughout his 92 years, Gene experienced a lifetime of change, hard work, family, and love. His memory will continue to live on through the many generations of family he leaves behind.

Those Left to Cherish His Memory:
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Debra Wakole.

His children, Misty Sullivan and husband Travis, Paula Poole and husband Shane, Russell West, Thomas Killens, Mike Wakole and wife Kathy, and Bobbie Wakole.

His grandchildren, Katlyn Fry and husband Josh, Sarah West, Haley Sullivan and fiancé Josh, Ashley Shoun and husband Orion, Allyson Stewart and husband Taylor, Sohna Sullivan, Gunner Sullivan, Nolan Sullivan, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Cory, Aimee Bland, Abbeigh Bland, Russell West Jr., Summer West, and Dustin West.

His great-grandchildren, Pazlei Fry, Konner Fry, Salem Shoun, Elli Taylor, Luna, Kizer Cox, Krew Sullivan, Oaklyn Sullivan, Kelly, Serenity, Tinslee Sullivan, and Lylah.

He is also survived by his sisters, Charlotte Lane of Shawnee, Freda West of Meeker, and Esther Armitage, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Welcomed Home By:
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Eugene Wakole and Lillian Mae Windowmaker; his granddaughter, Zoey; his great-grandson, Kohen; his brothers, Gary and Delbert Wakole; and his sisters, Thelma Wilcox, Irene McCellan, Donna Green, Lois Washington, Dorothy Bohannon, and Leona Wakole.

Forever Remembered:
Gene will be remembered for a life of service, hard work, and devotion to family. From his years serving his country to working the land and providing for those he loved, his life touched many generations.

Though he will be deeply missed, the stories he shared, the memories he created, and the love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

Forever loved.
