Levoy "Wayne" Dibler

Wayne Dibler, 83, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Wayne was born on October 29, 1942, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Chester and Hazel Dibler. He attended Harrah High School before beginning what would become a lifelong career in the grocery business. Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, Wayne worked his way from an entry-level position to owning his own grocery store, Dibler's IGA. After more than 40 years in the grocery industry, he retired in 2005.

Wayne was devoted to his family. He married the love of his life, Paula Dibler, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and faithfulness. Wayne was the proud father of four children: Tim Dibler and Melanie Searcy from a previous marriage, and Chad Dibler and Jason Dibler with Paula.

Seven years ago, Wayne made the most important decision of his life when he placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His family finds great comfort and hope in knowing that, because of his faith, he is now in the presence of his Savior-completely healed, at peace, and experiencing the joy of eternal life. While his family grieves his absence, they do not grieve without hope, but with the confident assurance that they will see him again one day.

Wayne was well known for his passion for classic automobiles, especially Corvettes. He loved buying, restoring, and selling cars, and took great pride in showcasing them at car shows throughout the years. Whether polishing a freshly restored classic or visiting with fellow car enthusiasts, Wayne found great joy in the hobby he loved.

Another favorite pastime was playing pool with friends. He was a talented player who enjoyed the camaraderie and competition the game brought.

While Wayne enjoyed cars and pool, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. His greatest happiness came from spending time with Paula, his children, and his grandchildren. He treasured every visit, every conversation, and every opportunity to make memories together. Wayne had a servant's heart and was always willing to help those he loved. His quiet generosity, unwavering love, and steady presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Dibler of Shawnee; his children, Tim Dibler and wife Cindy, Melanie Searcy and husband Rodney, Chad Dibler and wife Kim, and Jason Dibler and wife Keela; his brother-in-law, Curtis Watson; his sister-in-law, Debbie Watson; along with his cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Hazel Dibler; his sisters, Norma Watson, Dorothy Herron, and Wanda Radford; and his brothers-in-law, Dickie Herron and Nick Radford.

A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Sharon Baptist Church 19002 S. Gordon Cooper Dr., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at AE Funeral Services 603 W. Independence St., Shawne, Oklahoma.

Interment will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Wayne leaves behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, devotion to his family, and a life well lived. Those who knew him will remember his love for classic cars, his competitive spirit at the pool table, his willingness to serve others, and above all, the love he showed to his wife, his family, and those around him. His life touched many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished until the day we are reunited with him in heaven.
