Larry Ralph Shepherd

Larry Ralph Shepherd of Shawnee, Oklahoma, departed this world on November 3, 2024. He was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, on September 3, 1942, to Ralph Shepherd and Ella (McDaniel) Shepherd.

Larry attended Preston High School and continued his education at East Central University. He owned and operated Summertree Fence Company, Inc., where fencing, decorative gates, horse walkers, loafing sheds, automatic gate operators and vinyl cable were built. He also raised and trained quarter horses for many years. He truly had a gift with all animals. He also enjoyed rebuilding classic cars in his shop. 

Larry is survived by his wife, Judy Shepherd of the home; two children by his first wife, Suann: son, Steve Shepherd, and wife, Tracy, of Seminole, Oklahoma, and daughter, Shelley Markham, and husband, Rick, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; step daughter, Julie Briscoe, of Shawnee; four grandchildren: Dustin Shepherd and wife, Allisyn, of Shawnee, Dillon Shepherd of Seminole, Dalton Shepherd of Seminole, and Melia Markham of Nebraska; four great grandchildren; and his “Best Pal”, his dog, Sunny.

Larry was loved and will be missed by many.
