Larry Dean Rowley joined his family in Heaven on September 24, 2025. He was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on February 16, 1953, to Roy and Viola Rowley.
Larry graduated in 1971 from Muskogee High School where he ran hurdles on the track team. After graduating from Northeastern State University, he moved to Shawnee and met the love of his life, Marsha Morris, while she was on a picket line in front of the Shawnee Post Office. Larry worked for the State of Oklahoma as an unemployment tax auditor for 34 years. He also held various other jobs including working at Shawnee Mall, doing people’s taxes at H & R Block, working at Will Rogers World Airport, and working as a ranch hand. In his spare time, he walked in many parades as a clown and later as a Shriner.
Larry was a loving husband, father, family member, and friend. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He loved sports and regularly attended OU athletics (including football and softball games) and Thunder games. He also loved reading, fishing, debating politics, and attending all his sons’ sports.
Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marsha; parents, Roy and Viola Rowley; and sister, Mary. He is survived by his two sons, Aaron and Eric (Megan) and family members: Bob (Lynne), John (Mary Beth), Gary, David, Lindsey, Diane, Allen, Josh, Adrien, Chris, Ryan, and many other wonderful family members and friends.
