It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Franklin Conrad, a cherished husband, devoted musician, and respected leader in his field. Larry was born on December 10, 1947, and peacefully departed this world from his home in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on July 17, 2026, at the age of 78, following a natural progression of life.
Larry was a proud veteran who served his country honorably in the United States Navy. After his service, he embarked on a successful career as the Vice President of Gusher Pumps in California, where his determination and self-motivation made a lasting impact. While he lived in California, Larry participated in the Neighborhood Security program. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Larry was a self-taught musician, sharing his love for music through the guitar, banjo, and piano. His musical talents resonated within him, and he found great joy in sharing his passion with family and friends. He had a love for riding his Harley Davidson. He spent much of his time with his son, creating, writing and publishing several comic books. Larry was the artist, his son was the writer. Larry also was a professional body builder, arm wrestler and dove into professional bowling too.
Larry was a devout Christian and gave his life to Christ at Williamstown Baptist Church in Kentucky. Upon being saved he immersed himself into his faith and a short time after became an ordained deacon. He would make regular visits to the first-time attendees. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, Larry exemplified faith and dedication. He cherished his nightly bible devotionals with his beloved wife, Lueroyce Conrad, with whom he shared a deep bond of love and partnership. Larry's warm spirit and commitment to his faith touched the lives of many within his community.
Since Larry had served in the Navy, Larry felt he had been on plenty of voyages, but once Lueroyce booked them on a cruise, Larry was hooked and they enjoyed many memorable cruises thereafter. His legacy will live on through the countless stories shared by friends and family who were fortunate to know him.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur F. Conrad and Margaret L. (Webster) Conrad and by one brother, Ernie Conrad.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Lueroyce Conrad, sons Larry Conrad and Franklin Conrad, stepson Adam Briggs, daughter Amy Burton and her husband, Steve Burton, stepdaughter Ashley Briggs, grandsons Sam Burton and Malachi Burton, granddaughter Annika Burton, brothers Garry Conrad and Bill Conrad, sister Margaret Ann Jones, brother-in-law Rex Lucy and wife Ollie Lucy, sister-in-law Lorna Horn and husband Myron Horn, adopted family Jeff and Kat Franklin and their children Kenzie and Gage Rowland, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held in honor of Larry on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Sharon Baptist Church located at 19002 Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee, OK 74801. Following the service, Larry will be laid to rest in a private burial at Seaman First Class Billy Turner Veterans Cemetery.
In this time of mourning, we invite all who knew and loved Larry to come together to celebrate his life and the joy he brought to each of us. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
