Kimberly Marie Horner

January 9, 1973 — April 5, 2026

Shawnee, Oklahoma

Kimberly Marie (Mitchell) Horner passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 at her home in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 53 after a long, hard battle with cancer. She was born January 9, 1973 in Norman, Oklahoma to Ronnie Dean Mitchell and Janice Marie (Montgomery) Mitchell.

Since the day she was born Kim was always the wild child. Her mother would claim she had never seen a kid like her. She was always up for whatever dare her brother Doug gave her growing up. She was truly one of a kind, very headstrong. Her siblings could always count on her to be the one to step up and take charge. She would be the first to step in and help others while everyone else would be afraid to be involved. She was also the first to cause the most trouble in her younger years as well as her early adult years. She never met a stranger and could make friends with anyone. Over the years she got the nickname “Crazy Kim” which fit her well, along with her signature dance move that her daughters often teased her about.

Kim brought into this world 4 beautiful girls, Jessica, Destiny, Chelsea, and Brianna. However, she had helped raise numerous kids over the years. Her home became the hangout place for all her daughters, their cousins and friends. Every weekend her house was filled with kids, and she always welcomed every one of them that walked through her door and loved them all just like they were her own. Majority of her Saturdays were spent at a softball field or basketball gym watching her girls play ball, which she enjoyed the most.

She was well known for her chicken and dumplings, and huge breakfasts she’d make for all the kids at her home. Kim always enjoyed having barbeques with her friends, going to the lake, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Kim worked in home health for many years. She enjoyed caring for her patients and treated them with love and care as if they were her own family.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Mitchell, grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and extended family.

Kim is survived by her mother, Janice Mitchell of Bethel, OK; spouse, Mike McMillan of Shawnee, OK; children, Jessica Solomon of Bethel, OK, Destiny Neal and husband Ben of Seminole, OK, Chelsea McMillan of Oklahoma City, OK, Brianna McMillan of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Weston Neal, Colton Neal, Makenna Compton, Khloie Blocker, Dollie Neal, Kason McKee, Maliki Christner, Isabella Solomon; brother, Doug Mitchell and wife Teena of Shawnee, OK; sister, Candi Christner and husband Colin of Bethel, OK; nephews, Kyle Mitchell, Chase Christner, Jordan Marcoulides; nieces, Genea Gilmore and husband Albert, Julia Snake, Riley Christner, Maddison Christner, Kimberly Christner, along with numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
