Kenneth Van Royen

Kenneth Wayne Van Royen, 79, passed from this life January 8, 2023. He was born July 1, 1943, in Moline, Kansas, to Ernest and Laura (Ferry) Van Royen.
Kenneth married Margaret Jane Frazier on May 25, 1970, in Miami County, Oklahoma. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service as a postal clerk. Building furniture was one of his special hobbies and he enjoyed sharing his woodwork with others. Kenneth loved working in his garden and baking banana bread, which most often found its way to friends, neighbors and just people he had gotten to know. He truly loved bringing laughter and joy to others.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jonas Van Royen.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; daughter, Kerry Hankins and husband, Terry, of Prague, OK; son, Timothy Van Royen in Kuwait; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Russell Van Royen, of Thayer, KS; sisters: Neva Walter of Eureka, KS; Lola King of Winfield, KS, and Rita Lee of Burrton, KS; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 Friday, January 13, 2023, at Turon Cemetery in Turon, Kansas.
