Julie Lee Edwards

March 28, 1952 — March 31, 2026

Tecumseh

Julie Lee Edwards (Adams), 74 years old, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, formerly of Fulton, Missouri, went home to the Lord on March 31, 2026, after courageously battling End-Stage Renal Failure for almost 3 years.

Julie was born on March 28, 1952, to Floyd and Norma (Granville) Adams in Lynwood, California. After graduating from high school, she went on to study music at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, where she graduated with her degree.  Julie worked for the State of Missouri for many years as a social worker and as a Medicare/Medicaid Auditor, traveling all over the United States for work, until she retired in 2009.  Julie loved her Lord and devoted her life to spreading his love and message, especially after He healed her from Lupus in the early 1980’s. The lupus destroyed her kidneys, and she was blessed to receive a kidney from her sister Dena in 1988.  After her transplant, Julie was full of life again. She went to Thailand on a missionary trip, recorded a full-length southern gospel music album, was nominated for a Southern Gospel Music Award, all while running a successful Mary Kay business, and working for the State of MO. Julie never gave up on people or on life. She was the sweetest, kindest, and most loving person. She wanted everyone to have the kind of relationship with Jesus that she had. In 2007 Julie connected with her older sister Jackie and they became fast friends. After moving Jackie to Missouri from Minnesota, they decided to move to Phoenix, Arizona where Julie was Jackies’ primary caregiver until her passing in 2017. At age 66 years old, in Phoenix, Julie met the love of her life, Doyal Edwards, and they were wed on March 8, 2019. After a beautiful honeymoon in Hawaii, they moved to Tecumseh, Oklahoma, where they have lived for the last 7 years, to be closer to family. Julie was blessed to have a full life and be able to spread God’s Word in all things that she did.

Julie was predeceased by her parents and sisters Jacqueline Hollenkamp & Dena Wiechert.

She is survived by her husband Doyal Edwards, Niece Katherine (Curtis) Olson, Step-daughter Kelle (Aaron) Parris, Step-son Rick (Anne) Edwards, Sister Kim (Jeff) Martin, Adopted Granddaughter Misty (Johnny) Ruth, Best friends Tom and Vicky Wilkes of Alexandria, KY, and many other nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
