Judith Lee Hammond

Judith “Judi” Lee Hammond, age 58, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on August 25, 2025. She was born in Fort Wainwright, Alaska, on March 9, 1967, to Charles Palmer and Jacqueline (Bryant) Palmer.

Judi graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1985. She continued her education at Great Plains Vo Tech to get her LPN nursing degree. She also attended some classes at Cameron University.

Judi’s nursing career started at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, and later she worked at Southwestern Memorial Hospital, also in Lawton. Then she went to work for a hand specialist/surgeon in Edmond, Oklahoma. She had to retire early due to complications of multiple sclerosis and seizures.

Judi was an outstanding cook and baker and loved to be in the kitchen with her daughter. She loved traveling and visiting new places, and she dreamed of traveling from state park to state park to see the whole country. She loved any kind of animal—especially her mastiff “Zeus”, and she also enjoyed watching the birds at the end of her street in the mornings.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jacqueline Palmer.

Loving survivors are her husband, Joe; daughter, Taylor; sisters, Dede and Jeannie; brothers, Chuck and Todd; other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at C3 Cross Connection Church, 329 N. Pesotum Ave., Shawnee, Oklahoma.
