Josephine “Susie” Ann Crawford was 72 years old at the time of her death on Sunday, February 5, 2023 in Moore, Oklahoma.
Susie was born Tuesday, September 5th, 1950 to José and Annie Marquez in Auburn California.
She was the 5th child born to a family of 7 siblings: Rachel, Mary, Pat, Bobby, Josie, Issy, and Tessie.
Susie is survived by:
Her 4 sons David Marquez and his wife Julie in Moore, Oklahoma; John Crawford and his wife Diana in Rocklin, California; Jacob Crawford and his girlfriend Jennifer in Kerny, New Jersey; Randy Crawford and his wife Mydia in Richwood, Texas.
9 grandchildren, Mikayla, Dominic, Joshua, Thessaly, Annie, Lily, Malachi, David, and Tobie and 1 great-grandchild Zoey.
Her 5 siblings, Rachel Duran, Mary Ellen Pearson, Bobby Marquez, Isabel Stevens, and Tessie Williams.
She was in the 1968 class of Roseville High School and graduated Sacramento State University with an Associate’s Degree.
Josie served her country and retired with the Department of Defense as a civil service item manager and received numerous performance awards from her times at McClellan AFB, CA, Warner Robins, GA, and Tinker AFB, OK. When working with the F117 Stealth Attack Aircraft, a flag was flown in her honor over Bagdad in an F117 during Desert Storm to commemorate her contribution to the program.
She excelled as an athlete and was an avid softball player as an All-Star Bobby Sox, once throwing a no hitter. She enjoyed and loved her boys which she pushed to gain an education, all 4 have Bachelor’s Degrees or more.
Her ashes will be scatted in her birthplace and home in California by her 4 boys.
Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Elevate Church in Moore, Oklahoma with Pastor Jermaine Vaughn presiding over the event on February 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm central time. The event will be shown online and recorded to accommodate all the family and friends in various states.
She will be missed.
