Joseph Sidney Meyers

Joseph Meyers, 69, of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away on January 28, 2026, after complications from heart surgery caused by his autoimmune disease. He was born in Wichita, Kansas, on August 2, 1956, to Jacob and Ioma Meyers.

After graduating from Choctaw High School in 1974, Joseph studied forestry at Eastern Oklahoma State College. He had a long career at Nemecek Construction until 2008 when he was diagnosed with his autoimmune disease. In 1980, he met Patrice and they wed in June of 1981. They had two children, David and Toni.

Some of Joseph’s favorite activities were hunting, woodworking, fishing, caring for house plants and playing video games with his grandson.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Patrice; son, David; daughter, Toni and husband; four grandchildren; four older siblings; other extended family members and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
