Johnny DeWayne Jones, 56, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on July 1, 2026, after a brief battle with small cell carcinoma.
Johnny, born on November 29, 1969, in Oklahoma City, was the son of Jimmy and Kathy Jones. He spent his childhood in Purcell and Moore. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Army and served for four years including a deployment to Iraq during Desert Storm. After serving in the Army, he dedicated 35 years to a fulfilling career as a truck driver. He took immense pride in his work, having driven over a million miles without a single accident.
In 1992, Johnny met Rebecca Jones (Wootton), and they got married in 1993. They went on to have three children: Brooke Whiteside, Jesse Jones, and Gracie Jones.
When he wasn’t working, Johnny enjoyed spending quality time with his family, fishing, and watching Sooner football.
Johnny was preceded in death by his dad, Jimmy Jones. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Jones; children, Brooke Whiteside, Jesse Jones, Gracie Jones; mom, Kathy Jones; sister, Amy Jones; nephew, Kevin Brown and niece JC Jones and many other family members.
A memorial service for Johnny will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Veterans Memorial Park located at 1900 S.E. 4th Street, Moore, OK 73160.
