Joan Mazie Brown

Joan Mazie Brown, 83 of Del City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 1, 2026.

Mazie was born in Hennessey, Oklahoma on September 13, 1942, to Frank and Audrey McCullough and grew up in Stroud Oklahoma. After attending Stroud High School, she married Carol Gene Brown on June 14, 1958. Later in life Mazie attended beauty college in Midwest City, Oklahoma where she graduated and became a hair stylist for a number of years. After the passing of Gene Brown, Mazie later remarried William Sanders Sr.

Mazie enjoyed a few hobbies like clock making, raising birds, cooking and baking. Mazie was a beautiful, generous, loving mother and woman with her greatest quality of forgiveness. Mazie will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Mazie was predeceased by Grandparents Jess and Nannie Eversole, Parents Frank and Audrey, sister Dorothy McFarland brothers Bobby Deer and Verle McCullough husbands William Sanders Sr. and Carol Gene Brown, son-in-law Thomas Stillwell.

She is survived by her children: Carla Stillwell, Tim Brown and Mark Brown, daughter-in-law Lori Brown. Grandchildren: Justin Brown, Tiffany Sims, Kerry Lewis, Mark Brown II, Terry Brown, Brandon Brown, Nathan Brown, Steven Brown and Nicolas Brown. Great Grandchildren: Children of Dean and Tiffany Sims - Alyssa, Erica, Jayce, Katie. Children of Kerry Lewis Jr. - Corina, Tailor and Adam. Children of Nathan and Rachel Brown - Ethan and Brianna. Children of Steven and Sarah Brown - Rowan and Aislinn. Children of Nicolas Brown and Dawn Wire - Gabriel Brown. Her Aunt Coleen Reed, Her sisters Anett Melson, Samantha Deer, Carolyn Crowe, Glinda McFerron and brother Sam Deer, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In celebration of Mazie's beautiful life, the family invites those who knew and loved her to gather and celebrate at Davenport Church of Christ, 2 E. 6th St. Davenport Okla. on September 26, 2026 at 11:00 am.
