Jerry Doyle Smith

Jerry Doyle Smith, age 75, passed away on August 8, 2026 in Shawnee, OK. 

Jerry was born in Shawnee, OK to Doyle and Mildred (McKey) Smith. He was raised in the Tecumseh area graduating with the class of 1970. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and The Army National Guard. After his military service he returned to Tecumseh and began working in construction pouring concrete for many years before starting his career at Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center in Tecumseh until his retirement.

Jerry was a man of many talents but master of none. Playing guitar, singing, fishing, motorcycles, and many other hobbies but was best at story telling over a beverage with friends.

Jerry is survived by 3 daughters Bobbi Jo Cannon of Shawnee, Barbi Jean Smith of Shawnee and Kati-Lee Bailey and husband Tyler of Tecumseh. Five grandchildren and one great Grandchild. Brother Randy Smith of Shawnee and sister Linda McFarland of Tulsa. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Sammy P. Ellis, brother Larry Smith and sister Karen Combs. 

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held Friday August 21, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at AE Funeral Services located at 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, OK. With burial following at Forest Hill Cemetery in Tecumseh with Rev. Lonnie Hurst of Grace Community Church officiating.
