Jerry Wayne Crain

Jerry Wayne Crain, a longtime resident of Maud, Oklahoma, who later made his home in Tecumseh, passed away peacefully in Shawnee on July 1, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on December 17, 1946, to E.U. and Ruth Crain, Jerry was raised in Maud, Oklahoma, and graduated from Harjo High School. He spent much of his life working side by side with his father on the farm. He later owned a pawn shop and worked at Clay Pipe, where he formed lifelong friendships with his two best friends.

Jerry was a man of many interests. He had a deep love for music and played the guitar often. He especially enjoyed playing music with his friends on the weekends, filling the room with laughter, stories, and song. He was an avid reader, always searching for his next good book. He had a passion for collecting pistols and found peace in the quiet moments spent fishing.

Above all, Jerry enjoyed a good laugh and had a naturally ornery streak that kept life interesting. He had a sharp wit and a playful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Lindsey-Crain; his parents, E.U. and Ruth Crain; and his sons, Jerol Dean and Russell Crain.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Cathy Crain; grandchildren Dallas Tiger, Caitlyn Tiger, Kaleb Tiger, Kaden Tiger, and Dalton Tiger; and great-grandsons Taylor Shaw and Myles Dollins. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, music, and love that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, 1:30 p.m., at Cummings Cemetery, Maud, Oklahoma 74854.
