Jeffery Vaughn Harbin, beloved husband, father, Pappy, passed away on October 15, 2026, at home in Checotah, Oklahoma at the age of 65. He was born on January 19,1961 in Michigan City, Indiana to Thomas V. Harbin and Lucille (Walker) Harbin.

Jeff attended Walker High School in Alabama, graduating in 1979. He enlisted in the US Navy right after graduation and did 20 years of service. He had several different duty stations during his career with Midwest City, OK being his last. On December 30,1999 he married Janice Bowling at the Oklahoma County Court House. Together they shared almost 27 years of marriage, building a lifetime of memories. They shared 5 children together and added 9 grandchildren to the family over the years.

Jeff joined the Midwest City Police Department in 2000 and devoted 22 years of service to the community. The last 15 years he was as dedicated K9 officer which he loved, not only having/training his dogs, but the comradery with other K9 officers within the department and other departments during training sessions that was held. Jeff retired from MWC Police Department in May 2022 and moved to Lake Eufaula with his wife and spent 5 years traveling, watching grandkids play sports and spending time with new friends at the lake.

Jeff loved living life to the fullest, spending time with family, especially his grandkids, and friends, being on the lake on his boat, traveling in the US and around the world, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, the love of his life, Janice. Jeff was always seen riding his golf cart around the neighborhood keeping a watchful eye on things and picking up trash and talking to everyone he saw. He was also very attached to his dog, Bogey, who often times was with him on the golf cart. He was an avid Alabama football fan and loved harassing everyone that was not as an avid fan as he was, especially the friends and famiy that were OU fans or ones that cheered for the opposing team. Most of all Jeff was well known for his ever present sense of humor and often times would delight in getting anyone he could with a sarcastic comment/jab.

Jeff is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Janice; his children, Jennifer Harbin, Stephanie Alonza and husband Matt, Jeffery Harbin and wife Mallorie, Breane Griffith and husband Zach, Blake Bowling and wife Ashley; grandchildren, Karleigh Harris, Kensleigh Harbin, Gentry Alonzo, Nash Alonzo, Landon Bowling, Ava Henry, Doss Griffith, Lane Griffith and Tilly Griffith.
