Janice Flick

December 4, 1950 — May 2, 2023

Janice Kay Flick, 72, of Tecumseh Oklahoma passed away May 2, 2023, in Shawnee surrounded by her family.
She was born December 4, 1950, to Helen Irene (Postlewait) Flick and William (Bill) Boyce Flick in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was a proud life-long resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and attended Tecumseh Public Schools.
Janice loved her children and grandchildren, and especially loved introducing them to new places and going on adventures. She was an avid shopper who could get lost in Wal-Mart or a thrift store for hours. She once shopped with her niece Shelly for 19 hours for one of her favorite holidays, Black Friday. During her short confinement due to her illness, she mastered shopping online, so much so that we are still receiving packages. Her car seemed to be on auto pilot any time it passed a garage sale sign, which she loved going to with her best friend and niece. She never met a stranger and would swear she’d met you before, no matter how far away from home she was. She travelled all over the United States, Europe, and Mexico, with Ireland being her absolute favorite destination.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Irene (Postlewait) Flick and William (Bill) Boyce Flick, brother Billy Ray Flick, sister Patsy Irene Youker, son Shane Countess, and grandson Richard (Bubba) Preston Standley Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Larry Boyce Flick; daughter, Tracy Leann Rath; step daughter, Kimberly Countess-Alves; special niece, Shelly and Vern Hanna; granddaughters, Amanda and Austin Webb, Harley and TJ Qualls; grandsons: Tyler Countess, Braxton Rath, and Blake Countess; one great grandson, Kaeden Padilla; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends; sister in law, Betty Flick; daughter in law, Jenny Countess; special family friend, Justin Robbins; and life-long best friend and partner in crime, Charlotte Fullbright along with her daughters: Laura, LaDonna, LaTisha, and Kalli.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Thursday May 4, 2023, at AE Funeral Services, 603 W Independence in Shawnee, OK. Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday May 5, 2023, at Home Church, 2401 E. Walnut in Tecumseh, OK with Jerry Kuhn of Home Church officiating.
The family would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Heartland Home Health Care, especially Kelley, Sheila, Tabitha, and Leeanne, and Jerry with Home Church.
Janice will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her. Most of us will not know what to do without her around to offer advice, manage our lives, and boss us around.
