Janet Lee Leggett of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away on August 16, 2022, surrounded by her family. Janet was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on July 13, 1954, to Harrel Staggs and Patsy (Pendergrass) Staggs.
Janet loved her family, the beach and a good cup of coffee. She also had a passion for music and dance. In fact, she and her first husband, Preston, had a band called “Midnight Desperados” and they sang in honky tonks throughout Oklahoma. In the early 1980’s, Janet received her real estate license. Later she earned her cosmetology license and excelled in the beauty industry. Her reputation was widespread and brought many clients who would use only her for all their beauty needs. Janet passed on her beautician knowledge and talent to her daughters and granddaughters who always made her proud.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Junior and Jesse Staggs and her only son, Tony Boyd.
She is survived by Alan; daughters, Shelly, Amy and Jessica; brothers, Ronnie and Randy; 19 grandchildren: Lee, Alyssa, Lauren, Blake, Brendan, Briley, Kye, Marriah, Preston, Hailey, Callie, Miranda, Triston, Dawson, Shannon, Brianna, Austin, Mason and Libby; 21 great grandbabies; many more family members and a host of friends who loved her so.
Viewing will be Friday, August 19, 2022, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at: AE Funeral Services, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, OK 74804.
