Eddie Glen Elix, 63, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, tragically passed away on January 13, 2026. He was born in Clinton, Oklahoma, on July 8, 1962, to Andrew Elix and Lillian Parker Riley.
Eddie grew up in Tipton, Oklahoma, and moved to Oklahoma City sometime in early 1980. He earned his GED and went to trade school to be a mechanic. He had a career in concrete work and was a mechanic from 2011 to 2024.
Eddie had a daughter, Darlene McKinney (8/13/82) and a son, David Benavides (5/27/88). He was blessed with three grandchildren: Victoria (5/18/05), Myah (4/7/07), and Marcus (5/13/09).
Eddie met his wife, Dawna Murray Elix, on August 13, 2010, and they married on May 7, 2011. They lived in Choctaw, Oklahoma, until 2020, when they bought a home in Shawnee. After Eddie retired in 2024, he enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the grandchildren play and looking at the beautiful sunsets, as that is just what he wanted to do.
Eddie never met a stranger and could talk to anyone as if he had known them for years. He seemed to know the words to every song ever written and sang them all, and he always had a story to tell. He loved dogs and enjoyed tinkering with old cars and creating his own recipes.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Lillian; sister, Brenda and brother, Henry.
Loving survivors are his wife, Dawna; children: Darlene, David, Brant, Chelsea and Braxton; grandchildren: Victoria, Myah, Marcus, Trayvon, Chance, Skyler, Eli, Lenna, Alaysia, Ra’Awna, Zaniah and Isaiah; sisters: Mary, Lois, Jean, Shirley (Berlin) and Cookie (Steve); brothers, Benny and John Wayne; numerous other family members: cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Eddie was Greatly Loved and will be Forever in Our Hearts!
