Earl Gilmore

Earl Lee Gilmore, 78, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away on April 26th of 2022.

Earl was born on March 27, 1944, to Ruby Jewell and Albert Mathis Gilmore in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

A lifetime long haul truck driver, Earl began his lengthy career driving for Red Wallace. He would later drive for JW Welborn for many years, before branching out to start his own trucking company, Gilmore Trucking, in 1997. He and his wife also owned and operated their own gas station in Shawnee for a short time.

Earl met his wife, Cecilia, in 1960 and they were married December 8th of 1970. Together they raised their four children and helped raise many others who came into their home. Earl was blessed with a houseful of grandchildren, from both his own children and those who were always welcome in his home. All of his grandchildren loved playing in and getting to ride in the semi-trucks when visiting Earl.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Albert Gilmore, and his brothers Darrel Wayne, Albert Alton and Harold Gene Gilmore. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Cecilia, his brothers Don and Larry, his sister Ruby Ann, his daughters Angie and Tina, his sons Albert and Allen, his grandchildren Dylan, Cheyenne, Jace, Santana, and soon to be born Selena, as well as numerous other family and friends.

Services will be held at AE Funeral Services in Shawnee on May 5th at 2:00 PM.
