Dorothy Hedrick

Sadly, our dear mother, Dorothy F. Hedrick, passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 86, to finally go home to Jesus.  She was a wonderful mother who was always there for her family.  She was born on January 15, 1937, to Willard and Sylvia (Sellers) Smith in Philadelphia, Missouri.
Dorothy was raised and lived most of her life in Elvaston, Illinois, and she was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Carthage, Illinois.  She was a person of many talents, one being quilt making for her family.  She also enjoyed helping others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herald Hedrick; daughter, Margaret; son-in-law, Monte Pruitt, and her parents.
Dorothy is survived by her children:  Nancy Keener and husband, Kenneth, of Seminole, Oklahoma; Joseph Holbert and wife, Kim, of Loves Park, Illinois; Phyllis Pruitt of Jefferson, Wisconsin; Keith Holbert and wife, Pinar, of Doha, Qatar; grandson she raised, Joey Hedrick and wife, Sarah, of Stoughton, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great granddaughters; sisters: Mary Phillips of Nauvoo, Illinois; Wilma Qualls of Newalla, Oklahoma, and Betty Ritchie of Carroll, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services for burial of her ashes will be at the Elvaston Cemetery on October 21, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
