Dolores Wright

Dolores Collene (Smith) Wright
(Dee) passed away on July 27, 2023, at the age of 91.  Dolores was born on June 1, 1932, in Stroud, Oklahoma to Newton (Bob) and Myrtle Smith.
Dolores moved to Southern California in 1936.  She graduated from Puente Union High School in 1950 and then later in life she earned her Nursing Aid Certificate.  While in high school she met Robert C. Wright (Bob) and they were married on December 30, 1950.  They recently celebrated their 72nd Wedding Anniversary.
While growing up in California Dolores enjoyed spending time on the ranch with her dad and hanging out with her cousins.  During high school she was involved in sports and music.  She went on to play in a volleyball league for many years.  She also enjoyed going on family campouts, boating, water skiing, traveling, sightseeing, and visiting loved ones.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.  In 1995 Dolores and Bob moved to Shawnee where they enjoyed many years of retirement together.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Wright, parents Newton and Myrtle Smith, and her sister Roberta Reaves.
Dolores is survived by daughter Patti Odien and husband Roy, son Robert D. Wright and wife Margaret, daughter Kelly Gulbranson and husband Mike, and her sister Wanda Roth and husband Gary.  She was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A private Memorial Service for family and close friends will be held at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association in memory of Dolores C. Wright.
