Denise Ann Morelock, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Stroud, Oklahoma on May 23, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on February 22, 1960, in El Reno, Oklahoma to Dale Gene Williams and Mildred Agnes Williams (Phillips).
Denise was raised in Stroud, Oklahoma where she attended Stroud Public Schools and met the love of her life, Gary Bruce Morelock. Denise and Gary were married on January 25, 1979, in San Angelo, Texas.
Denise lived a life centered around family, love, and unwavering devotion to the people she cared about most. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always made sure everyone was taken care of. Her home, her heart, and her time were always open to those she loved. She had a quiet strength, a caring spirit, and a kindness that made others feel safe, welcomed, and deeply loved.
Denise had a passion for cooking and lovingly prepared every holiday meal for her family. She planned weeks in advance and always made enough food to send many days’ worth of leftovers home with loved ones to enjoy long after the holiday had passed. She also made sure every family member had their favorite meal and birthday cake on their special day, creating traditions and memories that will be cherished forever.
Denise also loved shopping and could always be counted on to drop everything and tag along on any shopping trip. She took pride in making sure her home was always stocked with anything her family might need. In a way that perfectly reflected her caring nature, even after her passing, Sam’s deliveries continued arriving at her door in the days that followed — one final reminder of how devoted she was to taking care of the people she loved.
She dedicated 43 years of service to First Bank & Trust, formerly Stroud National Bank, where she built lasting friendships and became a familiar and trusted presence in the community. Her hard work, loyalty, and commitment were admired by all who knew and worked beside her.
Denise also had a deep love for animals and cherished the many beloved pets she cared for throughout her life. She had a special affinity for Schnauzer dogs, raising five Schnauzers during her lifetime. She had a gentle heart for animals, and they brought her endless comfort, companionship, and joy over the years.
Above all, Denise was a believer in Jesus Christ and had unwavering faith in Him throughout her life. Her faith gave her strength, comfort, and peace, and it remained steadfast through every season of life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Williams, and her husband, Gary Morelock.
Denise is survived by her loving mother, Mildred Williams of Stroud, Oklahoma; her brother, Rocky Williams of Norman, Oklahoma and his husband, Eric; her sister, Cissy Paige of Stroud, Oklahoma; her daughters, Maranda Cody of Kendrick, Oklahoma and her husband, Johnny, and Denisha Harris of Stroud, Oklahoma and her husband, Shawn; her son, Garrett Morelock of Piedmont, Oklahoma and his wife, Cari; and her bonus children, Tiana Paige, Jackie Paige and her partner, Alston, Chris Messer and his wife, Ashley, all of Stroud, Oklahoma.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Kenedi Morelock, Landen Morelock, Kimber Cody, Brady Morelock, Lexi Morelock, Braylie Harris, Athena Harris, Cody Paige and his wife, Terra, Wyatt Menefee, Isaac Burrows, Bentleigh Paige, Cheyanne Messer, Ivy Messer, and Parker Kay Paige.
Being a grandmother brought Denise immense joy, and the love she poured into her children, grandchildren, and extended family will never be forgotten.
Denise will be laid to rest in Prague, Oklahoma beside her beloved husband, Gary. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Her children would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who helped care for and provide comfort to Denise during her illness, with special thanks to Cissy Paige, Kimber Cody, Katie Elton, Donna Messer, Albert Messer, and Emerald Hospice for their compassion, kindness, and support.
Though her family’s hearts are heavy with loss, they find comfort in the many memories Denise leaves behind — her love, her laughter, her strength, and the countless ways she showed up for the people she loved every single day. Her memory will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
