Deeward Mark Brown

Deeward “Mark” Brown of Newalla, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, after a two-year battle with cancer. He was born in Waurika, Oklahoma, on November 6, 1959, to Deeward and Shelba Brown.

Mark was a great athlete and grew up playing football and wrestling. He graduated from Western Heights High School in 1978. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked in construction, mostly doing masonry and tile work.

Mark never met a stranger and will be remembered for his big smile and infectious laugh.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Juanita Showalter and Deeward and Ruth Brown.

Mark is survived by his parents, Deeward and Shelba Brown of Newalla; sisters, Tammy Whitney and husband Rick of El Reno and Dawn Warren of El Reno; brother, Mitch Brown and wife Sharon of Oklahoma City; his longtime girlfriend, Tina Gilliam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held January 10, 2026, 1:00 p.m., at Calvary Assembly of God, 9801 SE 29th St., Midwest City, Oklahoma 73130.
