Cody James Buss, age 20, tragically passed away Friday, June 2, 2023. He was a resident of Meeker, Oklahoma. Cody was born April 1, 2003, in Roseville, California, to Shane William Buss and Renee Ellen (Brazeal) Buss.
After graduating high school through the EPIC program, Cody attended Mid-Del Technology Center in Midwest City, Oklahoma, to become a welder. He was a volunteer at the Hard Luck Auto Services whose motto is, “If you can afford the parts, if we can, we will fix your car for free.” He was a member of the Okie Rebels Car Club and the Moore Muscle Car Club. He, his brother, Brady, and some friends were organizing a program called “Halo Outdoors” to help intercity children get the chance to enjoy the outdoors. He loved to collect “junk” and turn it into “treasures”, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, cooking and playing with his dog, Duke.
Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Leslie Brazeal; Nate Newcomb and his dog, Sasha.
Cody is survived by his parents, Shane and Renee; sisters, Amber Pruitt-Buss and Maddie Buss; brother, Brady Buss; fiancée, Breonna “Breonka” Kennedy; grandpa, Bob Link; grandparents, Tony and Sandra Beats and Philip and Ruth Kizer; grandmothers: Shirley Turner, Kathy Fraizer (Nenaw) and WyVonne Young; additional family members: Isaac Kennedy and Owen Francis (who were like brothers), Tina and Wes Francis and Shane Kennedy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and a host of friends.
A service with public viewing will be held: 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the Choctaw Road Baptist Church, 14971 E. Reno Avenue, Choctaw, Oklahoma 73020.
