Clifford Boyd Honeycutt, 72, of Asher, Oklahoma, passed away on November 21st at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after a long battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (lung disease).

Clifford was born on October 21, 1953, to Leslie Boyd Honeycutt and Helen Marie (Patton) Honeycutt in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The family later moved to Stigler, Oklahoma, where Clifford graduated from high school in 1971. He attended Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma. He married Stephanie (Candy) Smith in 1973. He also enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1973. Clifford and Candy were blessed with Chad Anthony in 1974 and Nathan Cyle in 1977. They divorced in 1979. While serving his 8 years in the Air Force, he met Jo Nita Hollingshad, and they married on June 7, 1980. Clifford’s military service ended in 1981. Clifford and Jo were blessed with the first of two daughters, Sarah Jo, in 1982 and later Megan Dawn in 1984. Clifford and Jo later established a home in Bethel Acres for a while. In 1991 they moved to Asher and built their cattle and pecan farm. Clifford worked for Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic, rigger specialist until he retired in 2008 after 37 years of service. He spent his retirement enjoying his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed working with his cattle and harvesting his pecan orchards. He loved attending church at Asher First Baptist Church every Sunday and going daily to have coffee with his fellow church members at the fellowship hall during the week to tell stories and discuss daily news. Clifford “adopted” everyone he knew into his family during his journey through life, especially those younger than himself that he took under his wing. His nurses that took care of him during his yearlong battle were considered his family as well. Many cared for him as their own family member. He was loved by many people.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie B. Honeycutt and Helen M. (Patton) Honeycutt; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Ruby Honeycutt; maternal grandparents, PJ and Leona Patton; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Clifford is survived by the best love of his life for 45 years, his wife, Jo Honeycutt of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Jennifer Honeycutt of Tuskahoma, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Jennette Honeycutt of Noble, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Elias Carreon of Macomb, OK; daughter and fiancé, Megan Honeycutt and Garen Tuley of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren: August Carroll, Breanna and husband Mark Delisle, Kiley Honeycutt and significant other Austin Hyde, Hunter McPherson and fiancé Hannah Dockrey, Kalib Honeycutt, Joseph Kaylor, Evelyn Carreon, Scarlett Carreon, Gabriel Carreon and Samuel Carreon; brother, Douglas and wife Joyce of Mt.
