Boyce “Cap” Charles McCormick, age 85, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away on February 24, 2026. He was born in Fittstown, Oklahoma, on September 28, 1940, to Charles Wesley McCormick and Minnie Frances (Thompson) McCormick.
Although born in Oklahoma, Boyce was raised in Bakersfield, California. He had nine siblings and they were known as “The 10 Little Indians”. After high school graduation, Boyce served in the U.S. Navy. He married Frances Louise Hollis on November 28, 1960, in Bakersfield. He made his career in the oil and gas industry as a tool pusher and worked for Western Offshore Drilling and Exploration and Pool Production Corp.
Boyce enjoyed golfing, doing leatherwork and riding his 4-wheeler. His favorite family memories were made while working and living in Singapore.
Boyce was preceded in death by his wife, Frances McCormick; grandson, John Gokey Jr.; his parents and ten siblings: Troy McCormick, Floy Kelley, Loy McCormick, Lois Kelley, Clois McCormick, Joyce Stephens, Floyce Havard, Royce McCormick, Choyce McCormick and Cloy McCormick (infant sister).
Loving survivors are his daughter, Judy Gokey (John); son, Wesley Charles McCormick (Lora); granddaughter, Kyra Hawkins (Austin); grandsons: Joe Gokey, Wesley McCormick II (Heather) and Bo McCormick (Bree); great grandchildren: Scottlynn, Brianna, Adin, Kylei, Keaton, Remi, Oaklee, Maddox, Macen, Mavryk, Liam and Oakley.
Honoring Boyce’s wishes, there will not be a service or memorial.
