Billy Ray Phillips, 72, of Newalla, Oklahoma, passed from this life on June 15, 2022, after battling heart disease and cancer. Billy was born to William T. Phillips and Jewell A. Phillips on May 1, 1950, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
After attending high school at U.S. Grant in Oklahoma City in 1967, Billy landed his first job at Standard Engraving in OKC—kicking off a 20 plus years career in the printing industry. He was also a licensed electrician for 5 years before he retired.
Billy and Judy met when they were teenagers and married in 1968. They were married 38 years and blessed with three daughters: Tammy Annette, Nikki Jean, and Erica Dawn.
Billy’s hobbies were spending time with his family and friends, watching his “shoot ‘em up bang bang” shows (as he called them) on TV and riding his “Bad A” four wheeler with his grandkids and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Jack McBroom and Jerry Phillips; daughters, Tammy and Nikki.
He is survived by ex-wife and friend, Judy Phillips; daughter, Erica Tabor and boyfriend, Jesse Wallace; 3 grandchildren: Jordan Tabor and girlfriend, Haylie Teeter, Michala Tabor, Blake Tabor and girlfriend, Kaiden Boren; great-grandson, Owen Tabor and a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 12:00 noon at Valley View Full Gospel Church, 310 N. Meigs St., Ft. Gibson, OK 74434.
