Bennie Hopkins

Bennie Lee Hopkins, 88, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on November 16, 2023, after a battle with lung cancer and COPD.  He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 17, 1935, to James R. Hopkins and Hattie Mae (McAtee) Hopkins.
Bennie joined the Army in 1960.  After being honorably discharged, he went to work doing what he loved--mechanical work on all types of automobiles.  He had several hobbies, including fishing and racing cars.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, James R. and Hattie Mae Hopkins and his son, Randy Lee Hopkins.
Bennie is survived by his three daughters:  Hyla Wood of Shawnee, OK, Sherryl Hopkins of Tecumseh, OK, and Stephanie Girty and husband, Mickey, of Porum, OK; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
